This video should help clear up some of the confusion about how to fly the Black Shark (Werewolf / Hokum), exactly what all the autopilot channels and modes do, how they interact and when to use which. Skip straight to the 10:11 to get the summary of Autopilot Mode overrides, 25:16 to see the results in averaged seconds of the tests or 27:16 to see a shorter Summary of everything. This was just going to be a subsection of the Data Link+ABRIS tips, and progressive testing grew it into this beast. If you ever wonder why info is loaded the way it is.
It doesn't cover everything on how to design a mission, but specifically how the settings affect how the Shark starts up.
ps. your starting entry for the ABRIS is usually 'blank'-ish. But if it's set to an airfield start (i.e. desynced waypoint numbers from PVI), typically with a name like "static". If it's your exact starting location, ie. not snapped to an airport/helipad, then it's usually labeled 0001. I'm not 100% on that weapon selector knob settings - especially if e.g. the HE S-8 rockets are position 4 (ie S-25 setting) or position 0/1 with some of the other S-8s. Also haven't tested these yet to see how much they actually change. Just know that if you re-arm, you might need to adjust it. I know… it’s a missed opportunity to depict various naughty bits in the mission editor. Instead you just get one obscure reference to a BBC show.
