Man-portable air-defense systems. Portable surface to air missiles, guided weapons that are a threat to low-flying aircraft

Face nose of heli towards incoming missile
Ka-50 is designed to have a very low frontal signature
MANPADs do not have good resistances to countermeasures
Put a building or object between you and the missile
When looking at the missile, if its moving across your canopy, it likely lost tracking and is not / no longer tracking you.
Note: FIM-92 stinger is proximity, so it can damage you if it gets close enough while the SA-7 and SA-16 will need to make contact to detonate.
Staying below 10m and 100 km/h helps to avoid doppler.
6-7 meters @90 km/h is a good target
Most radar systems have difficulty detecting targets at low altitude
Many doppler-based radar systems ignore targets moving < 100 km/h to avoid detecting civilian traffic
Avoid flying over elevations such as hills and mountains.
Downsides are increased small-arms fire and unguided rockets
Flying at an altitude of 12-15 meters and 150 km/h. Suitable when the presence of enemy anti-aerial or aircraft is unlikely.
