Hey guys! This is the first video in a new series of DCS: F/A-18C Hornet Tutorials. A lot has changed and been updated since the F/A-18C's release in 2018 and I have grown as a creator since the Hornet's release.
The main focus behind this series is putting out Definitive F/A-18C Hornet tutorials now that the aircraft is feature complete and out of early access for new pilots to learn from and veteran DCS World pilots to review with. I hope you guys enjoy this series.

Hey guys! In this definitive DCS F/A-18C Hornet tutorial we are taking a look at the Auto Pilot and Navigational systems. These two systems are inextricably linked via the Autopilot Coupled mode and is why are combining these two systems into a single video.
The navigational portion of this video will be broken down into INS Waypoint navigation and ground based navigational aids like TACAN. The Autopilot Coupled Mode portion of this video will cover both Waypoint and TACAN Navigation including flying inbound and outbound on specific Radials.
Waypoint creation will be its own separate video for quick reference.

This is a bare essentials tutorial for anyone who may have interest in DCS and their more complicated modules like the F-18, but is a bit intimidated or put off by the seemingly complicated controls and steep learning curve. THIS IS NOT IN ANY WAY MEANT TO BE AN ACCURATE WAY TO USE THE F/A-18. My goal in this video is to show you the absolute minimum (which is quite low IMO) that you need to know to jump in the plane and start doing fun things.
